Work at Camp Royall

“Camp Royall will always hold a special place in my heart. It has helped me to grow in ways I could have never imagined. Working there has taught me to enjoy the simple things in life, and not to sweat the bumps along the way. The campers, their families, and the staff are all inspirational. I have never been prouder to be a part of any organization.”
Mary-Elizabeth, Summer Camp Counselor

Working at the Autism Society of North Carolina’s Camp Royall is an eye-opening experience filled with fun, lifelong friendships, and an amazing feeling of accomplishment. The relationships that you develop with campers and staff, and the knowledge that you gain about autism, fully outweigh any of the challenges of the job. The feeling of satisfaction in knowing that you have improved the quality of another person’s life is tremendous. After working at camp, you will find you are stronger, more patient, more confident, and more compassionate than the day you started.

We have different job opportunities available, depending on the time of year:

  • Summer Camp Program (May-August): We hire Overnight Camp Counselors, Day Camp Counselors, Lifeguards, Cooks and Nurses
  • Mini-Camp Weekends (one weekend per month September-April): We hire Counselors
  • Afterschool Program (2-6 each school day throughout the school year): We hire Counselors
