Trainers within the Clinical Department offer customized workshops to parents/caregivers and professionals on a wide range of topics. ASNC feels strongly that family participation is a critical element to the success of any intervention program. Hands-on workshops are tailored for parents/caregivers in an effort to equip families with an understanding and the skills necessary to support the progress of their loved one.
The Clinical Department delivers workshops to professionals and community members on a wide array of topics. Training options range from introductory sessions to detailed clinical trainings geared for individuals with experience in the autism field. Workshops are tailored to professional groups including but not limited to early intervention clinicians and instructors, regular and special education teachers, school administrators, community-based service providers, health care professionals, vocational rehabilitation and employment supports professionals, emergency responders and post-secondary educators.
We also offer and encourage site-based coaching as a component of the professional development training package. In such cases, our lead trainers work directly with teachers, students, autism specialists, therapists, and other staff in the school context and provide first hand guidance to classroom staff on how to implement specific instructional interventions and behavioral strategies that are proven to be effective for students with autism.
