2nd Annual Coastal NC Run/Walk for Autism to Raise Awareness and Funds

On Saturday, April 21, the Autism Society of North Carolina and GHA Autism Supports will hold the second annual Coastal NC Run/Walk for Autism. Runners and walkers of all ages are invited to participate in this event, which is held at Mayfaire Town Center in Wilmington beginning at 8:30 am.

The Coastal Run/Walk for Autism includes a chip-timed 5K race, a recreational 1-mile run/walk, and a kids’ dash. Individual and team awards will be presented after the race, and several organizations supporting the autism community will be onsite.

Proceeds from this event will be used to support individuals and families affected by autism in the coastal region of North Carolina. To date, over $30,000 has been raised. Please visit www.coastalncrunwalkforautism.com for more information.

The Coastal Run/Walk for Autism is part of World Autism Awareness Weekend, which includes a variety of family-friendly activities. Following the run, there will be a Family Day in the Park at Wrightsville Beach Park. On Sunday, Surfers Healing will host water sports and other activities at the Blockade Runner.

The Autism Society of North Carolina is a nonprofit organization that provides support and promotes opportunities for individuals with autism and their families statewide.
