Triangle Actress Addy Miller Teams Up with Autism Society of North Carolina

Twelve year-old actress Addy Miller recently presented a $1,020 check to the Autism Society of North Carolina (ASNC). Addy, who was cast on “The Walking Dead” and played a young Dakota Fanning in “The Secret Life of Bees,” donates a portion of her autograph and appearance money to the organization.

Addy has been passionate about helping the autism community since her younger brother, Drew, was diagnosed with autism. Her goal is to learn all she can about autism so that she can relate and help with Drew, as well as become educated to speak about autism. In fact, she plans to attend Assistant Counselor Training at the Autism Society of North Carolina’s Camp Royall this summer.

During promotional events and appearances, fans have been making donations to support ASNC. Addy has produced a special poster focusing on autism and her work to raise awareness and funds for the Autism Society of North Carolina. The proceeds Addy raises help fund scholarships for campers to attend Camp Royall.
