Life with family.
Danny began acting out as a middle schooler. With support, he learned to communicate with his family, easing his frustration and giving them back their family life.
When Danny was in middle school, he began acting out and became aggressive. He did not speak, and all of the communication tools his family tried had failed. His father was concerned that they might have to consider an institution. “That was just the ultimate fear for me,” his dad said.
The family called on the Autism Society of North Carolina, and together, the staff and Danny’s family helped him learn to use a communication system. Now, Danny can tell them what he wants and needs.
“Our lives have truly changed,” Danny’s father said. “I have nothing to say but thank you. Thank you.”
