Individuals on the autism spectrum do not always understand danger and may have trouble communicating. Not all police officers, firefighters, and EMS personnel understand autism.
Working with members of our IGNITE program for young adults with autism and concerned first responders, we developed tools to help everyone stay safe. We created a curriculum for autism self-advocates and produced a new video to accompany our training for first responders.
