Life with support.

Odin struggled with communicating when he was upset. Once, he walked out the door. With support, he improved his communication and social skills and learned how to make safe decisions.

When Odin was in kindergarten, he struggled. He would have full-blown daily tantrums. One day, he got upset and walked out the door. When his mom found him, he’d fallen. He was sitting in the dark crying. Odin can talk, but when he is scared or upset, he can’t communicate his feelings.

Odin’s family reached out to the Autism Society of North Carolina for help. One of their Autism Resource Specialists helped Odin get the support he desperately needed in school. The one-on-one staff taught Odin communication and social skills and how to make safe decisions. Recently, they helped him prepare for online learning.
