Life with hope.
Seeing other families at the Triangle Run/Walk for Autism gave the Powell family hope.
Declan Powell was diagnosed with autism when he was three. When his family went to the Triangle Run/Walk for Autism, they felt they weren’t alone anymore. They saw other families and teams supporting loved ones, which gave them hope. They were determined to build a big team so that they could share that hope with others.
This year, Team Declan was more than 150 people strong. Declan’s family, classmates, teachers, and former direct support professionals came to walk.
The Autism Society of North Carolina supports families by connecting them to resources and providing services. individuals and families also find a community for their journey. A community provides hope when nothing else can.
