Adult Transition Supports

Do you want your teen to develop job-readiness skills?
Are you a young adult looking for support to become more independent?

The Autism Society of North Carolina is launching new transition supports for teens and young adults between the ages of 16 and 26 in Wilmington and Greenville. The program will focus heavily on job readiness, job development, and job placement and training services, while incorporating skill development in other areas necessary for a successful transition to adulthood.

This program is made possible through the support of Trillium Health Resources. Individualized coaching and support will be provided on-site and throughout the community. The program will involve group activities and sessions as well as one-on-one instruction and supports.

Content areas will include:

  • Career assessment, exploration, and discovery
  • Job-readiness and acquisition
  • Transportation and community integration
  • Benefits and financial literacy
  • Social skills
  • Advocacy, coping, and self-regulation
  • Health, wellness, and creative expression
