Back to School: Strategies for Success! Panel Discussion (webinar)

The beginning of the new school year is just around the corner. The Autism Society of NC’s Autism Resource Specialists and Clinicians have heard your most common questions and concerns. Our goal is to provide you with the most up-to-date information, ideas, strategies, and options.

Questions we will answer:
• What if my child refuses to wear a mask?
• Should the school increase services for my child because he/she made minimal progress last year?
• Suggestions about how to best share my concerns about the upcoming school year with the school.
• I believe my child regressed over the summer. Can I ask the school for an evaluation to determine regression? How should the school document regression in order to make decisions about increased services and/or ESY?
• Is the school responsible for addressing all of my child’s IEP goals if schools are closed again due to the pandemic?
• My child is returning to school in person for the first time since March 2020. I learned some strategies that worked with my child at home. Can these strategies be added to the IEP?

Do you have other questions you want answered? Please submit questions in advance to lsouthern@autismsociety-nc.org.
