Autism Training for Professionals

We are a trusted training partner for school systems, provider agencies and other professional groups across North Carolina.

The Autism Society of North Carolina’s Clinical Department provides innovative and interactive training sessions for professionals – from introductory to in-depth and multi-day – on a wide variety of topics including but not limited to:

  • Reframing assumptions about challenging behavior
  • Addressing challenging behavior in school settings
  • Best practices in instruction for students with autism
  • Strategies to promote self-advocacy and social understanding
  • Trauma-informed positive behavioral supports
  • Integrating evidence-based practices in EC classrooms
  • Supporting neurodiverse students in regular education settings
  • Contemporary functional behavior assessments and behavior intervention plans
  • Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) – applications in school settings
  • Structured teaching and behavior analytic strategies in the classroom
  • Culturally responsive positive behavioral supports
  • Preschool programming for young children with autism
  • Naturalistic developmental behavioral interventions for young children with autism
  • Autism-informed mental health interventions (e.g., CBT, DBT)
  • Promoting self-advocacy and engagement within day program and residential contexts.

Coaching and consultation services
