The Autism Society of North Carolina focuses resources on high-quality programming to improve the lives of individuals with autism and their families. For every dollar raised, 89 cents goes directly to funding services.
Our program and service revenue covers only a portion of our expenses, and we rely on donor giving to bridge the gap. We value your generous contributions to improve the lives of loved ones with autism. The 2016-2017 annual operating budget was just over $19,200,000.
Revenues for the organization come from a variety of sources including Medicaid reimbursable services, contracts with the state of North Carolina, grants, donations, corporate sponsorships, special events and fundraisers, and sales of autism books and merchandise.
We believe in transparency in reporting our activities. As a 501(c)3 charity, we are required to file an IRS Form 990 annually. View our Form 990s and Annual Reports.
Financial reports are reviewed by the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Financial Officer, and the Finance Committee of the Board of Directors. The organization also undergoes an annual accounting audit by an outside auditor as well as periodic reviews by government agencies.
